Tilmanstone Welfare Bowls Club has been on the same site since 1954. We are affiliated to Bowls England, the Kent County Bowling Association and the Tilmanstone Miners Welfare Institute and Recreation Ground. Once a member of the club, you will also be a member of the Institute enabling you to use their facilities. The name of the Club links us to the former Tilmanstone Colliery but is situated in Eythorne not Tilmanstone in a lovely rural setting.
The club has a pavilion, six outdoor bowling rinks and ample free car parking for members and visiting clubs. The green and the clubhouse is maintained by the members allowing the club to enjoy a low annual membership fee.
The club offers lawn bowls, for all standards of play, from April to September. Members can bowl socially with club organised games and competitions. Many members compete in mixed matches against other clubs in the local area and in the Men's Dover League. On a Wednesday afternoon we offer a "rollup" to anyone from the club when they can turn up and play which is always very popular. We have a qualified coach and can provide equipment to start you on your bowls journey.
The club offers regular social events during the year including bingo and quiz nights.
New members of all ages and abilities are always welcome to be a part of this fun, enjoyable sport. If you ever thought of trying lawn bowls now's the time. Why not browse our website to see what we will be doing during 2025 and if would like to know more please do contact us by completing and submitting your enquiry via the Contact webpage or
